染のさきらは友禅染の伝統を持つ京都の北に位置する岩倉にある手捺染の工房で創業は1978年。手捺染とは染台の布地に型を置き、色糊をへらで擦りこむ様に染めます。生地の上に型を置いて染料をヘラで載せていく技法です。細かい型をいくつも重ねることにより、多彩な色使いと細やかな柄を出すことができます。
温度や湿度などを厳密に管理することによる正確な水ぼかしの技術など他の工房にはない技術を持ち、婦人服の生地の加工で非常に人気の工房。
Established in 1978 in Iwakura, Kyoto, our hand-dyeing workshop carries on the traditional Kyoto dyeing technique of yuzen, in which a template is placed over the fabric to by dyed, and the dye rubbed into the fabric using a special tool.
Because we carefully control temperature and humidity and employ techniques not used in other workshops, such as a technique producing a precise watercolor effect, we are a popular choice for the processing of fabric for women's clothing.
We have also been offering our own unique products for several years now.
